Half full or half empty?

Wow, can you believe it’s almost June already! How is it possible? Where did the first half of the year go??

We have a new kitten in our family. He’s six or seven weeks old. Mighty cute. You can see his picture on my web page (www.madelinebaker.net). I’d forgotten how playful kittens can be, and how sharp their teeth are! The little fur ball bit me the other night and drew blood! Wonder if he’s some kind of vampire cat?

Went to see Star Wars again today. It was even better the second time! Burger King has some really cute Star Wars toys. I’m hoping to collect them all.

Looking forward to "Cinderella Man" and "War of the Worlds.

STAR WARS

What can I say? I saw it. I LOVED IT. This one puts Menace and Clones to shame.

Is there any thrill in the world to compare to the excitement of being in a theater filled with Star Wars fans? You can feel it building when the LucasFilmsLtd logo appears on the screen, followed by those famous words: A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. And then the music comes up and you're swept away into another world.

It is, indeed, the darkest of them all. No happy ending this time, but it does tie up all the loose ends nicely. I can't wait to see it again! Or feel that shiver run down my spine when Anakin becomes Darth Vader and that voice fills the theater.
It was, in a word, awesome.

5 Days and Counting...

Pulse racing, heart pounding, anticipation building. That's right, 5 days until Star Wars Episode III.

In other news, I got a new kitten today. He is soooooo cute. He's kind of tiger striped. I named him Tigger, after our last cat, who was also tiger-striped. My dog, Teddi, is anxious to be friends, but the kitten isn't quite ready yet. I guess the cat's reaction is pure instinct, since I don't think he's seen a dog before.

Hope you're all having a great weekend.

Did I mention there's only 5 DAYS UNTIL STAR WARS?????????

The Day After Mother's Day

If you're a mother, I hope you had a day as fine as mine :) My sons all came over bearing gifts ~ bless them! They know what I like, and what I like is Star Wars. My collection has grown. I now have the new Star Wars DVD Trivia game, a couple of Darth Vader posters, and a Darth Vader Mr. Potato Head (too cute!). I'm sure I have more toys now than I ever had as a kid!

Speaking of Darth Vader, have you seen the giant Darth Vader pez dispenser? Very cool, as is the new light saber that changes colors.

Ten days and counting until Revenge of the Sith!

Nothing in the World is So Certain as Change

Well, I heard from my editor the other day. Seems they've decided to change the title of my upcoming book from Before Sunrise to DESIRE AFTER DARK. My editor thinks it sounds sexier and I have to agree. I did like Before Sunrise, though. It kind of went with the previous book's title, After Sunrise. Oh, well. One thing I'm sure of, this is one of my best books, no matter what they call it!

The back cover copy says:
"Sexy vampires, dangerous devotion, unparalleled romance—no one does desire after dark like bestselling author Amanda Ashley. Now, in her enthralling new novel, she explores a passion as smoldering as it is risky...

Vicki Cavendish knows she should be careful. After all, there’s a killer loose in town—one who drains women of blood, women with red hair and green eyes just like her. She knows she should tell police about the dark, gorgeous man who comes into the diner every night, the one who makes her feel a longing she’s never felt before. The last thing she should do is invite the beautiful stranger into her house...

Cursed to an eternity of darkness, Antonio Battista has wandered the earth, satisfying his hunger with countless women, letting none find a place in his heart. But Victoria Cavendish is different. Finally, he has found a woman to love, a woman who accepts him for what he is—a woman who wants him as much as he wants her...which is why he should leave. But Antonio is a vampire, not a saint. What is his, he’ll fight to keep and protect. And Victoria Cavendish needs protecting...from the remorseless enemy who would make her his prey...and from Antonio’s own uncontrollable hunger... "

At last, I have a DVD of Phantom of the Opera. Am I the only one who thinks they could have made his face uglier? I mean, granted, he was kind of scary but not really horribly disgustingly grotesque.

14 days until STAR WARS. I bought the book and read the end. As promised, this one is definitely dark in tone.

May the Force be With You....Always.
