End of the year rant....

Am I the only one who wonders what happened to The Vampire Diaries? It used to be a series about two brothers in love with the same girl....the characters were interesting, the triangle intriguing. We had witches and vampires who were messy eaters.

As the series went on, the writers seem to loose the magic that made it such fun to watch. They brought in a bunch of new characters, each one worse than the last, and mostly unlikeable. People died and came back. And died and came back,....

Then we had vampire witches, at which point I began to lose interest. This year, I stopped watching and then, because I was missing Damon - who was really the only reason I watched the show -what did I see but two girls kissing each other. Call me a prude, call me old-fashioned, call me whatever you want, but that did it for me.

And then there's The Originals, another show I liked but it got bloodier and bloodier each week until I said, that's enough.

I remember when there were so many good shows on, it was hard to decide what to watch. These days I have trouble finding something I want to watch.

If it wasn't for Castle, Once Upon a Time, Grimm, Hawaii 5-0, and Arrow, I wouldn't even need a TV except to watch reruns of old shows that actually had good stories that have stood the test of time.
