March Rant

I think I've mentioned this before, but bless whoever invented the mute button on TV sets. I am so sick and tired of watching ads from lawyers, ads about medications that have side effects that sound worse than the disease. I'm tired of seeing sad-faced dogs. Instead of all those sad-eyed dogs, why not a happy commercial about a happy healthy dog who found care and a wonderful home because of people like you?

I don't know where all the good tv shows have gone, but they aren't on my TV. I'm sick and tired of so-called comedies that are lewd and crude or just plain stupid. Honestly, remember great shows like M*A*S*H and Frasier and the Dick Van Dyke show and Cosby and Castle and the Mentalist? Shows with actual plots and great characters.

Deep breath. End of Rant.

So, here we are, already in the middle of March. Been a good year for California. We finally got some RAIN and boy, did we need it!!! Nice to see snow on the mountains and greenery on the hills.

I went to see Beauty and the Beast today. It was really good, but it made me wish I could see the play again. Years ago, when it was playing in L.A., I must have seen it 20 times. It was so magical. We met the actor who played the Beast at the stage door so many times, he invited us backstage to see his dressing room and the sets and meet his dog, that he took to every performance. Ah, the good old days!
