Vacation

Getting ready to go on vacation can be a lot of work! We had to find someone to look after the tortoise and feed the cat. We took the dog with us and headed for the mountains in Northern California, up past Sacramento. Heck of a long drive, but oh, my, what beautiful country! Nothing but trees, blue skies, clean air, deer, chipmunks, squirrels, and streams filled with trout. We had a great time. I especially love feeding the deer. There was a doe and two fawns who came to our camp every day. We couldn't get close to the fawns, but the doe would eat out of our hands. They are such lovely creatures and the babies are so cute.

Alas, nothing lasts forever, and after a week, we headed back to civilization, congeted freeways, smoggy skies, and dirty laundry!
