HOLY COW

Well, for once the weatherman was right. He said it was going to be HOT and it is HOT!!!!!! I went to the Mall this afternoon and when I got out of my car, it was 111 degrees. Yes, that's hot.
God bless the man/men/women who invented air conditioning for cars and homes. Don't know what we'd do without it!!!!!!

I'm in one of those places where I'm sort of at a loss as to what to do next. My editor suggested I might want to write a historical as she feels the market is cooling towards vampires......so, I started one. Not sure if it will go anywhere.....since I don't plot ahead, I'll just have to wait and see.

Of course, I still want to write Abbey's story, briefly mentioned in Night's Mistress and Night's Promise. I started that, too, but, again.....it might not go anywhere.

Then again, maybe I'll just curl up in front of the fan and take a nap.

Sending cool thoughts your way.

To quote Dorothy, "There's no place like home!"

We were on vacation up at Mt. Lassen last week. It's a beautiful place -truly God's country.

We didn't get off to the best of starts - two flat tires before we even got there. Plus I was bitten by something that left bites the size of fifty-cent pieces that itched for days.

But, on the bright side, the weather was wonderful - except when it rained, complete with lightning and deafening thunder.

I have to admit, I hate camping, even in a camper.

On the plus side, I got to spend six days with four of my grandkids, and that's always fun. They spent a lot of time fishing in the lake and in the streams. We had fish for dinner one night, and it was really good.
My son loves to shop. I guess he got that from me, so we went into the  neighboring towns and looked around. Ate out a lot, another of my favorite things to do.

All in all, it was great, but, like I said, there's no place like home. And no bed like your own bed!

This-n-That

Soooooooooooo, the year is half gone. Happy to say, the first half has been pretty good.

Apropo of nothing, I really love the mute button on my remote. I am so tired of ads for Low T and other male problems, and people trying to sell me gold and silver. I guess advertisers think only old men watch TV in the afternoon and early evening. I don't "watch" a lot of tv during the day, but it's usually on for background noise.

I recently discovered several new TV shows - Beauty and the Beast, for one. Can't believe it took me so long, except it comes on at the same time as Person of Interest. Happily, they're rerunning B&B so I can catch up. I've also become a fan of Burn Notice.

My other fav shows are Grimm, Hawaii 5-0, The Vampire Diaries, Hell on Wheels, Longmire, and The Mentalist. Those are the only shows I watch religiously! The rest of the time, I'm usually watching Frasier reruns

The 5th book in my Night series - Night's Mistress - will be published in August.

I had thought this would be the last book in the series. Just shows how wrong you can be. The 6th book will be out next February.

Hope you have a wonderful summer!!!!
