Oscar Time

Well, did you watch? I saw parts of it during my son's birthday party. And I wasn't particularly impressed with what I saw, except for the tribute to Johnny Carson, who was always a favorite of mine, and one of the best hosts the show has had. Billy Crystal is a close second. I kind of liked Whoopee.

I have to admit, I haven't seen any of the movies up for best picture, and don't plan to, so I didn't care who won. In my opinion, the best picture of the year was The Incredibles, and I was glad it won for best animated feature. Hope there's a sequel in the works! (Brad Bird, are you listening?????). My fav character is still Edna, and I was glad to see she made it to the stage tonight.

Hope you all have a great week.

Rain, Rain, Go Away

Mudslides, landslides, houses and swimming pools sliding down hills...yes, this is sunny California, or it used to be! I’ve lived here all my life and I don’t ever remember a winter as wet and destructive as this one! I heard on the news that we’ve had something like 31 inches of rain since July 1st, which makes this the 4th wettest winter since they starting keeping track 130 yeas ago ( long before my time ). You can say what you want about living in the mountains, give me flat ground! No landslides, no floods. The worse thing that’s happened here is that one of the bridges is closed. I can live with that!
I finally got over my cold, or at least the worst of it. Nasty stuff! I was beginning to think it would never go away. I had a letter from my cousin, Sue today. She lives in Colorado. Seems she’s also been down with a bad cold. Guess it’s going around.
I’m really bummed out that the Phantom isn’t playing locally any more. I was hoping to see it one more time. Someone told me it was coming to video in May. See me smile.
I read in the paper the other day that Shrek 3 and Spiderman 3 would be coming out in 2007. Talk about planning ahead!
Speaking of planning ahead, I’m on the countdown to May 19th, when Star Wars comes out. My son is taking the day off. It’s tradition for us to see the Star Wars movies the day they open.
On that happy note, I’ll say goodnight.

Forgetful Me

Well, I've been so busy lately, I forgot all about my blog. I guess it's like taking vitamins, you have to do it every day for a month or something until it becomes a habit!

As usual, I know I've been busy but when I look back, I can't remember what I've been so busy doing - other than writing. Most days, I write on and off all day long, except Sundays. Never on Sunday! At the moment, I'm working on a new time travel. I'm almost halfway through and so far, I love this book. Of course, that could all change in the blink of an eye, because I'm about to get to the middle, which is where I surely hit a wall and find myself wondering what to do next!

On the bright side, my current book, Night's Kiss, is #90 on the USA Today bestseller list. #9 would be better, but, hey, I'll take what I can get.

My turtles are getting bigger - of course, they're still small, but not as small as they were :)

I still haven't seen Finding Neverland...it will probably be out on DVD before I make it to the movies again!

Well, I think I'm babbling, so I'll spare you any further nonsense and close for now.

Happy February!
